Mobile BI has been on the market for several years now; however, only over the past years most BI vendors have started to invest considerable resources to enable their existing BI applications on various mobile  devices. The main spark behind this trend has been the rapid and dramatic evolution of smart phones and tablet devices. According to Gartner, by 2013, 33 percent of BI functionality will be consumed via handheld devices; by 2014, 90 percent of organizations will support corporate applications on personal devices.

In this session you will learn about the latest BI mobile and internet mobile trends, the current position of the main BI vendors on the mobile space, and you will see a live demo of a BI retail application using the iPhone and iPad devices.

Mr. Elkin Arboleda is Adastra's BI Competency Lead, with over 15 years of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence experience. Over the past 20 years, he has led numerous complex multi-tiered BI projects in various industries including Insurance, Financial Services, Retail and Telecommunications. Elkin Arboleda has worked as consultant for several major Canadian companies including Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank, Loblaw, Giant Tiger, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sun Life Financial, Telus Mobility, Wind Mobile, and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). He is regularly involved in strategic planning for Business Intelligence  platforms, including roadmap creation and tool selection. Elkin has solid hands-on experience with a wide range of BI tools including MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos and WebFocus.

Mr. Arboleda has a BSc in Computer Engineering from the EAFIT University of Medellin, Colombia, and Master's Degrees in Finance (EAFIT) and International Business (UPB University).
